The bidding process for the upcoming three ASBC Asian Championships is open
The management of the Asian Boxing Confederation decided to host three big championships in the year of 2024 to attract all of the age groups and give them chance to compete each other in the upcoming months. The Asian Boxing Confederation sent the bidding files of the 2024 ASBC Asian Boxing Championships to all of the National Federations.
The competition calendar in 2024 is extremely busy due to the two World Olympic Boxing Qualifying Events and the Olympic Games. The Asian Boxing Confederation is planning to host two of its events after the Paris 2024 Olympic Games not to overlap with the most important competition of the year.
The first event in Asia, the ASBC Asian U22 & Youth Boxing Championships is planning to be hosted in April between the two World Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event. The event for the U22 age group was launched in 2022 and the third edition will be held in a few months together with the youth age group. Boxers who were born in 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005 will be eligible to compete in the U22 event, athletes from the 2006 and 2007 age group will participate in the youth level of the championships.
The second major event in Asia in 2024 will be the ASBC Asian Junior & Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships and its planning date is August. The 2008 and 2009 age group will attend in the junior part of the competition, the younger talents who were born in 2010 or in 2011, will have the right to participate in the schoolboys and schoolgirls event. The Asian Boxing Confederation is planning to host its first ever Schoolgirls Boxing Championships in 2024.
The planning date of the 2024 ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships is November, three months after the closing of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The elite championship will be held in eight competition days and all of the National Federations have the chance to form their new elite teams in the beginning of the next Olympic cycle. The last edition of the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships was held in Amman, Jordan on November 2022.
The Asian Boxing Confederation had two huge competitions in 2023, the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships in Bangkok, Thailand on January and the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan just a few weeks ago.
The bidding for the upcoming three 2024 championships is open for all of the affiliated Asian National Federations.
