Vietnam will return to the international events at the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships

Vietnam was not able to attend in any international competitions in the recent more two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic, their two qualified boxers competed only at the Tokyo Olympic Games. Vietnam Boxing Federation decided to return to the international stage of boxing and their young female talents will be attending at the upcoming ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships.

Vietnam Boxing Federation arranged their National Championships for all of their age groups during the most difficult period and launched their Schoolgirls & Schoolboys Nationals to strengthen their background from the grassroots. Next to their national events, Vietnam will be the host of the Southeast Asian Games in their capital city in Hanoi, this May which is one of the main targets for their elite boxers.

The upcoming ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships will feature in Amman, Jordan from February 28 until March 15 and plenty of young stars waited for attending in the competition. An ASBC Asian Boxing Championships will return to Amman, Jordan after nine years of break where the city hosted the ASBC Asian Men’s Elite Boxing Championships still back in July 2013.

Mr. Pham Thanh Hai can travel with the team as coach following he joined to supervise the younger age groups in Vietnam. Their team contains five talented girls at the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships who all will be making their international debut in Amman on March.

Nguyen Thi Ngoc Tran and Pham Thi Quynh Anh are their top youth girls who has been selected to attend in Amman. The 18-year-old Nguyen Thi Ngoc Tran achieved silver medal at the flyweight (52kg) in their last Youth National Championships in 2021 and she is still in the youth age group. Tran Thi Truc Han, Tran Thanh Tuyen and Hoang Ngoc Phuong Trinh are Vietnam’s best junior female talents and all of them have the chance to show their excellent technical skills in Amman. Tran Thanh Tuyen will be turning to 15 only later this year but she has experiences from the previous national competitions.
