Sixteen contests scheduled in the second day at the UAE Youth & Junior National Championships

Following the first session of the United Arab Emirates Youth & Junior National Championships, their second competition day will take place today in Abu Dhabi. Sixteen contests scheduled in the second session at the UAE Youth & Junior National Championships today and exciting bouts are expected today.

There will be seven junior, one woman and eight youth contests in the second day of boxing in Abu Dhabi. Among them, the women’s lightweight (60kg) could be one of the highlights of the session, Mera Abdallah will be meeting with experienced ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships competitor Jawaher Ghareb of Fujairah today.

The seven male youth finals will be held at the flyweight (51kg), featherweight (57kg), lightweight (60kg), light welterweight (63.5kg), light middleweight (71kg), light heavyweight (80kg), heavyweight (92kg) and super heavyweight (+92kg). Mohamed Sami Shaheen will now meet for the light heavyweight (80kg) title with Khalid Mohamed Kurdi as the next highlight of the day.

The young boxers can use the UAE Youth & Junior National Championships as preparation and selection to the upcoming ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships which will feature in Amman, Jordan in the first part of March 2022. Boxers who were born in 2004 and in 2005 are eligible to attend in the youth part of the competition, while younger hopes from the 2006 and 2007 age groups can compete in the junior event.

The UAE Boxing Federation hosted the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships in May 2021 and the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships in August 2021 therefore their staff has strong experiences to make the show and organize events.
