Today’s featured ASBC Board Member: Dr. Khitam Ay of Jordan

A very worthy representative for women in the ASBC Board of Directors is Jordan’s Ms. Khitam Ay, a multi-faceted personality in sports and community service in her home country.

She currently sits as 2nd Vice President of the Jordanian Boxing Confederation, one of the most active boxing organizations in the recent past. 

They hosted the recent;y-concluded ASBC Youth and Juniors Boxing championshihps in March this year and was also the venue of the Olympic Qualifying Event for the Tokyo Olympiad in 2020.

The lady academicin is currently juggling important duties at the University of Jordan, the School of Sports Science and the Department of Movement Sciences and Sports Training.

After finishing her Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education in Sport Sociology, she received her Master’s Degree in Sport Exercise from the University of Jordan followed by her PhD in 2010.

Dr. Khitam is in academe, working as a full professor in her alma mater and has been active in various sports disciplines, including volleyball (indoor and beach) and swimming, both as an athlete and as sports official.

She was a member of the Women’s Committee of the Jordan National Olympic Committee in 1995-1996, the Women’s Committee of the Jordanian Volleyball Federation and the Sanad Association for Youth.

Dr. Khitam is also active in various community services projects, national awareness campaigns and E-learning systems,, among others.

His Royal Highness  Prince Muhammad Abbas Bin Ali Bi Nayef appointed her to the Temporary Committee of the Jordanian Boxing Confederation in 2021, paving the way for her election as one of two women to the ASBC Board of Directors last March.

Truly a woman of many talents, competencies and qualifications, Dr. Khitam Ay brings to ASBC her vast experience, sports acumen and winning ways.
