Meet another member of the ASBC Board of Directors – Mr. Adnan Bin Ali of Kuwait

Kuwait Boxing Federation advisor and Ministry of Education official Adnan Bin Ali was named as one of the new members of the Asian Boxing Confederation (ASBC) Board of Directors during the Extraordinary Congress conducted in Amman, Jordan last month.

Ali is a former national team boxer who won medals in various local and international tournaments including his bronze finishes in the Bangkok 1993 Asian Junior Boxing Championships, Arab Boxing Championships, Cairo International Boxing Tournament and Tashkent 1999 Asian Boxing Championships.

During and after his colorful boxing career, he completed his degrees in management, physical education and law while also finishing numerous boxing courses and attending many conferences in Kuwait, Belarus, United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Thailand, Egypt, Morocco, among others.

Between 1997 and 2005, he fulfilled his boxing coaching courses as well as his referee & judge courses in different countries.

With his broad experience, Ali was assigned to officiate in several editions of the Arab Boxing Championships and Asian Boxing Championships.

He became chairman of the ASBC Youth Commission in 2006 and was a member of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) from 2006 to 2010. While serving as a member of the ASBC Youth Commission from 2010 to 2014, he received his ITO Certificate from AIBA in Italy in 2013.

Ali is also active in supporting other sports in Kuwait such as weightlifting and powerlifting. In fact, he worked as executive member and vice president of the Kuwait Boxing & Weightlifting Federation from 2014 to 2017 and was appointed chairman of the Kuwait Powerlifting Committee from 2019 until 2023.
