The Tokyo Olympic Games has been officially postponed a date beyond 2020 but not later than summer 2021

Following the conference call which was held among Japan’s Prime Minister Mr. Shinzo Abe, the President of the International Olympic Committee Mr. Thomas Bach, the President of the Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee Mr. Yoshiro Mori, the Olympic Minister Mr. Seiko Hashimoto, the Games of the XXXII Olympiad in Tokyo has been postponed due to the Covid-19 Coronavirus situation.

The Governor of Tokyo Mr. Yuriko Koike, the Chair of the IOC Coordination Commission Mr. John Coates, the IOC Director General Mr. Christophe De Kepper and the IOC Olympic Games Executive Director Mr. Christophe Dubi also attended in the official conversation to postpone the Tokyo Olympic Games.

Japan had excellent results and progress in the fight against the Covid-19 Coronavirus in the recent weeks but in the present circumstances which provided by the World Health Organization (WHO), the Games of the XXXII Olympiad has been postponed. The date of the re-scheduled Olympic Games could be a date beyond 2020 but not later than summer 2021 to the health of the athletes and to give fair play in the preparations of all athletes.

The remaining qualification events in boxing to be continued as soon as possible when the situation will be cleared.
