The registrations are still open for the 1st ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships

The registrations are still open in the AIBA Database for the upcoming ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships and all of the National Federations can register their squads and delegations in the forthcoming days. Uzbekistan’s capital, Tashkent hosted the 2017 edition of the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships and after four years of break a Confederation’s event will return to the city.

There is huge interest from the National Federations to take part in the first edition of the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships which opens the new year. Many of these young boxers are already medallists from several top events therefore the world class level is guaranteed in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The official schedule of the upcoming ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships is revealed and it contains seven competition days and one rest day after the semi-finals. The first competition day is January 22, 2022 while the finals have been separated into two days and will be held in January 28 and 29.

The first edition of the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships was planned to be hosted in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on December 7-17 in 2021 still this year but following the decision of the management of the Asian Boxing Confederation and the Uzbekistan Boxing Federation, the event has been postponed to January 20-30. The national selection competitions were held throughout the Asian continent mostly this month.  

As the event was postponed from December 2021, boxers who were born in 1999 are also allowed to attend in the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships. This decision means that boxers who were born in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003 are eligible to attend in the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships.

The women’s boxers can attend in the official 12 weight categories from the minimumweight (48kg) up to the heavyweight (+81kg). The men’s boxers are allowed to attend in the 13 divisions from the minimumweight (48kg) up to the super heavyweight (+92kg). The venue of the event is the Uzbekistan Universal Sport Complex where the Uzbekistan Elite National Championships was also held.

48kg, 50kg, 52kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63kg, 66kg, 70kg, 75kg, 81kg and +81kg in the women’s competition
