The online ASBC Referees & Judges Commission Meeting was led by the active Chairman Mr. Paiboon Srichaisawat

The ASBC Referees & Judges Commission Meeting was held also online to discuss the most important topics and challenges which affect the daily work of the commission. The ASBC Competition Commission Meeting and the ASBC Women’s Commission Meeting were also done through by the application of Zoom in the recent weeks. The meeting was led by the acting Chairman of the ASBC Referees & Judges Commission, former Olympian R&J Mr. Paiboon Srichaisawat of Thailand.

Among the 11 members of the ASBC Referees & Judges Commission Meeting 9 attended in the online negotiations. Next to the acting Chairman Mr. Paiboon Srichaisawat of Thailand, Mr. Sultan Alharami of the United Arab Emirates, Mr. Sandag Bayasgalan of Mongolia, Mr. Hemantha Weerasinghe of Sri Lanka, Mr. Pushkar Raj Pant of Nepal, Mr. Abdalla Almajali of Jordan, Mr. Wang Dexin of China, Mr. Narendra Kumar Nirwan of India and Mr. Bedaly Alymkulov of Kyrgyzstan joined to the online meeting.

The ASBC Referees & Judges Commission Meeting was opened by ASBC Sports Director Mr. Omar Aljabri who welcomed all members and said that the Chairman of the ASBC Referees & Judges Commission Mr. Mohamed Kamel Shbib of Syria sends his apologize to the officials but due to technical difficulties, he was unable to join to the negotiations through the Zoom application.

The members of the ASBC Referees & Judges Commission approved and appointed Mr. Paiboon Srichaisawat of Thailand as Vice-Chairman following Mr. Mohamed Kamel Shbib’s proposal. Mr. Hemantha Weerasinghe of Sri Lanka has been appointed as Secretary of the ASBC Referees & Judges Commission which was proposed by Mr. Shbib.

The Covid-19 situation seriously affects the job of the ASBC Referees & Judges Commission and the national level job of the R&Js. Mr. Paiboon Srichaisawat said the National Federations should have education system during the Covid-19 pandemic. Mr. Mohamed Kamel Shbib and the ASBC Referees & Judges Commission are planning to hold a Webinar on September 19 to educate the R&Js as much as possible which will be opened to all levels of Referees & Judges.

Mr. Paiboon Srichaisawat requested from the Secretary to arrange a separate list of all the active AIBA 1-, 2- and 3-stars Referees & Judges following Asian Boxing Confederation will be finalized the list of the R&Js from the affiliated Asian National Federations. ASBC Sports Director Mr. Omar Aljabri informed the members that AIBA need to inform still a few R&J examination results which were held in 2019. The Secretary asked the possibility to arrange AIBA 1-star examination while Mr. Pushkar Raj Pant of Nepal also requested for more opportunities. Mr. Narendra Kumar Nirwan suggested that AIBA 1-, 2- and 3-stars R&J Examinations could be held during the upcoming ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships which is planning to schedule in India on January 2021. Mr. Hemantha Weerasinghe suggested to create a special ASBC R&J Commission group on WhatsApp to communicate easier.
