The next generation of female and male boxers shined in the Thailand Elite National Championships

The Thailand Elite National Championships featured in Muak Lek where the national team has an excellent camp. Seven female and seven male boxers won the elite titles in Thailand including eight talents who are still in the U22 age groups.

Their next generation of boxers shined in the Thailand Elite National Championships including Youth Olympic Games winner Atichai Phoemsap, ASBC Asian Youth Champions as Pornthip Buapa, Panpatchara Somnuek and Baison Manikon.

Thailand’s best boxers shined in the Tokyo Olympic Games where Sudaporn Seesondee achieved bronze medal. Their best young talents amazed in the Belgrade 2021 AIBA Men’s Elite World Boxing Championships where their three medals was their best performance since the 2007 edition.

Thailand Boxing Association will return to the international stage and will host the Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament. The registrations for the upcoming money prize event, the Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament are open for all of the National Federations. The Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament will be held in six women and seven men weight classes but this time the competition moved from Bangkok to Phuket which is famous of its holiday resorts, beaches and restaurants.

Thailand’s and one of the world’s biggest boxing events scheduled to take place for the elite women and men boxers in Phuket on April 1-10 in 2022. There will be also a pre-training camp for the boxers before the start of the Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament on March 23-30 to help the delegations to prepare to the competition.

Chuthamat Raksat who earned two medals in the previous AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships achieved the first title of the women’s part of the National Championships. She moved back to the minimumweight (48kg) and defeated Chanthakan Manoban in the final. AIBA Women’s Youth World Boxing Championships silver medallist Nillada Meekoon caused a strong surprise when she defeated Olympic Games quarter-finalist Jutamas Jitpong in the final of the flyweight (51kg).

Preedakamon Tinthabthai has seven years of experiences in the international events despite of her age of 22 but she worked enough to beat Apisada Tantawa at the bantamweight (54kg). ASBC Asian Boxing Championships silver medallist Nilawan Techasuep of Navy used her height advantage to win her next title at the featherweight (57kg). Police’s ASBC Asian Youth Champion Pornthip Buapa defeated her main rivals as Ratchadaporn Saoto and Panida Kawkankhun.

Police’s ASBC Asian Youth Champion and Youth Olympic Games winner Panpatchara Somnuek moved up to the light welterweight (63kg) but she managed to win the category against experienced Anusara Dusanthia. Another ASBC Asian Youth Champion, Tokyo Olympian Baison Manikon shined at the women’s welterweight (69kg) in Muak Lek where she defeated Air Force’s strong Janjaem Suwannapheng.

Army’s Samak Saehan has nine years of international experiences therefore he was too experienced for all of his rivals including Natthapong Thuamcharoen at the men’s minimumweight (49kg). Wuttichai Yurachai reached his career highlight in the Belgrade 2021 AIBA Men’s Elite World Boxing Championships were he earned silver medal. The 29-year-old boxer won his next national title at the flyweight (52kg) while Navy’s Thanaboon Kosol caused a surprise at the featherweight (57kg) where he defeated Pathipan Uthaida.

Phanuwat Buchan is a teenager but he bagged the title of the men’s lightweight (60kg) in Muak Lek proving his excellent technical skills. Experienced Somchay Wongsuwan defeated Bunjong Sinsiri at the light welterweight (63kg) and after his success, Youth Olympic Games winner Atichai Phoemsap dominated the welterweight (69kg). AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Peerapat Yeasungnoen controlled his contests at the middleweight (75kg) and celebrated his elite national title in Muak Lek.
