The medals introduced in the Press Conference at the Pakistan National Championships

The medals and belts have been officially introduced in a ceremony just before the start of the upcoming DHA Pakistan National Boxing Championships. Lahore is the host of the new national event which is Pakistan’s second largest city after Karachi and will welcome all of the top female and male boxers of the country. Altogether 27 female and 145 male boxers registered to attend and 153 bouts will be held in the upcoming days.

The President of the Pakistan Boxing Federation Mr. Muhammad Khalid Mahmood and the Secretary General Mr. Lt. Col. Muhammad Nasir Ijaz Tung are grateful to the DHA management for their continuous support and impressive efforts to host this upcoming National Championships in Lahore. The Press Conference of the Pakistan National Championships confirmed all details of the event and presented the medals.

The 38th Pakistan Men’s Elite National Championships and the 2nd Women’s Elite National Championships will take place between November 30 and December 6. The men’s elite boxers can compete in all of the thirteen official weight classes, while the women’s boxers will fight for five titles in the Pakistan National Championships.

Pakistan competed with one boxer at the AIBA Men’s Elite World Boxing Championships in Belgrade, Serbia and sent also a team to the CISM Military World Boxing Championships which took place in Moscow, Russia earlier in September.

Pakistan is focusing to the Commonwealth Games and the Asian Games in 2022 besides to the ASBC Asian Boxing Championships. The upcoming Pakistan National Championships will be one of the important selection events for the main goals in 2022. Teams from the Army, Navy, Pakistan Air Force, WAPDA, Railways, KPT, KESC, Baluchistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Sindh, Islamabad, AJ&K, Gilgit-Baltistan, Police and HEC can competed in the Pakistan National Championships. Boxers who were born between 1981 and 2002 are eligible to attend in the national event. All of the participants must bring their Covid-19 vaccination certificate issued by Nadra to the national event.
