The team delegations’ handbook of the upcoming ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships is revealed

The team delegations’ handbook of the upcoming ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships has been issued by the Asian Boxing Confederation and Uzbekistan Boxing Federation at the weekend. The handbook contains all of the important and necessary information about the competition which is a new event in the Asian continent and will be held in Tashkent in January 20-30.

The registrations for the upcoming ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships are open in the AIBA Database and all of the National Federations can register their teams and delegations since November 20 until December 30. The Asian Boxing Confederation will introduce its new event, the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships which is a new milestone in the continent’s boxing life.

The first edition of the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships will be held in January 20-30, 2022 and Uzbekistan’s capital, Tashkent can welcome all of the female and male boxers. The first edition of the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships was planned to be hosted in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on December 7-17 in 2021 still this year but following the decision of the management of the Asian Boxing Confederation and the Uzbekistan Boxing Federation, the event has been postponed to the end of January. 

As the event was postponed from December 2021, boxers who were born in 1999 are also allowed to attend in the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships. This decision means that boxers who were born in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003 are eligible to attend in the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships.

The women’s boxers can attend in the official 12 weight categories from the minimumweight (48kg) up to the heavyweight (+81kg). The men’s boxers are allowed to attend in the 13 divisions from the minimumweight (48kg) up to the super heavyweight (+92kg). The venue of the event is the Uzbekistan Universal Sport Complex.

The upcoming ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships will support the next generation of talents to increase their international experiences. This will be the first ever edition in the history of the Asian boxing events and realizes a dream which formed a few years ago. The ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships will be one of the preparation events for the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games and the 2022 ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships.

The Uzbekistan Boxing Federation hosted the 1995, 1999 and 2017 editions of the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships. The country was also the host of the 2015 ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships which took place in Tashkent. Uzbekistan Boxing Federation will be the host also for the 2023 AIBA Men’s Elite World Boxing Championships.

1999, 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003 born boxers

The weight categories in the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships:

48kg, 50kg, 52kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63kg, 66kg, 70kg, 75kg, 81kg and +81kg in the women’s competition

48kg, 51kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63.5kg, 67kg, 71kg, 75kg, 80kg, 86kg, 92kg and +92kg in the men’s competition
