The Kazakhstan National Schoolboys Tourney concludes

The Kazakhstan National Schoolboys Championships, for 13-14 year old boxers, concluded recently after some 240 young and enthusiastic hopefuls displayed their wares over 6 days of lively competitions in the city of Aktobe.

The Dzambul Region copped the most medals with 4 golds while Shymkent had 3, host Aktobe, Karagandy, the Turkestan Region, the Kyzyl-Orda Region and the Mangystau Region managed 2 apiece. The city of Almaty, the Almaty Region and Kostanay had 1 gold each.

Among those who caught the attention of the crowd and officials, was Dzhambhul Region’s 14 year-old Termikhan Zholmakhan, who dominated all his opponents in the 38 kg class in convincing fashion.

A total of 20 weight categories were contested this year, which allowed a wider range of participation from growing kids from all  over Kazakhstan.

The tournament was held under the auspices of the Kazakhstan Boxing Federation.
