The Kazakh women’s team returned and trains in the Ak Bulak Olympic Centre while the male boxers are doing physical preparations in the mountains

Kazakhstan’s women team returned to their National Training Centre after three months of break and prepare to the next targets and to raise the physical skills of their boxers. Kazakhstan’s first and second squads, 24 top female boxers arrived to the Training Centre together with their coaches and one doctor. The training camp for the girls is holding in the Ak Bulak Olympic Centre which locates near to the former capital, Almaty.

All of the women boxers passed successfully the medical tests and they are already in joint training at the very first time after March. The head coach of the Kazakh women’s national team is planning to do physical exercises in the first week of the camp to regain the conditions of their boxers. From the second week the intensive boxing trainings are in the schedule and the camp will be continuing until June 26.

Kazakhstan’s female squad achieved only one spot for the Tokyo Olympic Games in the Asian & Oceanian Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event. Their quota holder is ASBC Asian Youth Champion and former AIBA Women’s Junior World Champion Nadezhda Ryabets who can represent Kazakhstan at the middleweight (75kg). Their second and last chance to qualify for the Olympic Games is the World Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event which will be re-scheduled soon.

Kazakhstan achieved maximum number of eight male spots also for the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games through the Asian & Oceanian Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event which was held in Amman three months ago. Their male elite team is also in training camp near to Almaty in the mountains and do physical preparations with stones.

The lockdown due to the Covid-19 Coronavirus pandemic finished in Kazakhstan on May 11 and life are turning back to normal in our current days. The training camp which will follow all of the hygienic and sanitary rules due to the safety of the athletes.

The management of the Kazakhstan Boxing Federation has got further plans which includes joint training camp with the teams of Russia, Uzbekistan and Ukraine. The Askar Kulibayev Prizes Tournament and some other events are also in their future plan to increase the number of bouts of their boxers. One of the first events will be the Aitenov Brothers Youth Tournament in Kostanay on July 16-22.
