Raksat, Techasuep and Seesondee are Thailand’s medal hopes in the upcoming Ulan-Ude 2019 AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships

Thailand is another Asian nation which has strong medal hopefuls in the upcoming AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships. The AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships will be held in Ulan-Ude, Russian Federation and starts on October 3 with the first preliminary bouts.
Thailand hosted two big events this year, the Bangkok 2019 ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships and the Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament with successes. The Cuban head coach of the Thai elite national team Mr. Juan Bautista Fontanills selected five strong boxers to represent the Southeast Asian boxing power in Ulan-Ude following their preparations in Germany.
Chuthamat Raksat was bronze medallist in the Jeju 2014 AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships and following several experiences at the flyweight (51kg), she moved down to the light flyweight (48kg) this year to increase her possibilities to get medals again. The 26-year-old boxer won the Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament in July and she is waiting for the start of the Ulan-Ude event in top shape.
Thailand’s flyweight (51kg) boxer will be Jutamas Jitpong who returned from the professional world one year ago and attended in the New Delhi 2018 AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships where she won two contests. Jitpong had nine professional bouts during her career and acclimatized to the Olympic boxing in the recent one year.
Preedakamon Tintabthai was bronze medallist in the Taipei 2015 AIBA Women’s Junior World Boxing Championships and the 20-year-old talent received the right to box in a top elite event at the very first time. Tintabthai moved down to the bantamweight (54kg) and the following the Cologne Boxing World Cup and the Indonesian President’s Cup, she knows several of her upcoming opponents.
Nilawan Techasuep was involved to the elite national team only in February 2018 but since then she claimed bronze at the Jakarta 2018 Asian Games and silver in the Bangkok 2019 ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships. The 26-year-old Thai featherweight (57kg) hope is one of the tallest boxers in her division and won more than 80% of her international contests in the recent one and half year.
Thailand’s most experienced team member Sudaporn Seesondee achieved also bronze at the Jeju 2014 AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships as Chuthamat Raksat but she reached her career highlight one year ago. The Asian Games runner-up Seesondee defeated world class boxers in the New Delhi 2018 AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships and finally took silver at the lightweight (60kg).
