Nguyen Thi Kim Tuyen is the first schoolgirl finalist in the Vietnamese Youth & Junior & Schoolboys National Championships

The schoolgirls, the schoolboys, the junior and the youth boxers were all in action in the recent two days of boxing in their national event. Their current event the Vietnam Youth & Junior National Boxing Championships started in Quang Ngai province where schoolboys and schoolgirls have been added to the official program at the very first time. Ho Chi Minh City’s Nguyen Thi Kim Tuyen is the first schoolgirl finalist in the historical event.

The last edition of the Vietnam Youth & Junior National Championships was held in the city of Can Tho in July 2019 and many of the titleholders returned to the competition. The President of the Vietnam Boxing Federation Mr. Tran Minh Tien is also following all of the actions in the Youth & Junior & Schoolboys National Boxing Championships.

The Vietnam Youth & Junior & Schoolboys National Championships will be running until the 31st of October due to the extremely high number of participants in Quang Ngai province. The venue of the national event is the Indoor Sport Stadium in the Nguyen Tu Tan street where 458 boxers are in actions.

Nguyen Thi Kim Tuyen is Ho Chi Minh City’s boxer who is the first schoolgirl who advanced to the finals of the event. The 42kg schoolgirl eliminated Tran Thi Hoa in the semi-finals and will be facing for the gold medal with Hoang Ngoc Phuong Trinh. Another talented schoolgirl Trinh Khanh Linh defeated the favourite boxer from Ho Chi Minh City, Thach Thanh Thao in the semi-finals of the 44kg weight class.

Nguyen Thi Thun Hua had a close fight against Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh but she had all of the technical knowledge to beat her opponent in the last four. She will be meeting for the gold medal of the 46kg weight class with Do Minh Chau in the event. Dinh Thi Khanh Ly controlled all of the rounds in the semi-finals of the 48kg weight category over Da Nang’s Dinh Thi Thien and remained her gold medal chances alive in Quang Ngai province.

Vietnam’s most experienced schoolgirl Nguyen Thi Mai dominated her semi-final against Ly Thi Ngoc Huyen at the 50kg weight class and following her tough combinations, her rival’s ringside abandoned their fight. Nguyen Thi Mai will be meeting for the gold medal with Nguyen Hoang Phuong Anh who won her semi-final by RSC. Song Thi Kim Ngan also has done a superb performance in the last four of the schoolgirls event and joined to the finals. Bui Ngoc Thai and Nguyen Hieu Le has done one of the best fights of the day at the schoolboys 42kg weight category. Bui had the stamina to beat his opponent by split decision of proved his talent in the historical fist schoolboy national event. Nguyen Hoang Khanh (50kg), and Le Hoang Thanh Quang (57kg) amazed in the strong schoolboy contests.
