Ms. Jana Baghdadi – “We are setting a professional plan to reborn boxing in Lebanon and we are so proud that we are attending in the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships”

Lebanon is a newcomer in the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships the country competed at the very first time in the history of the event. Lebanon attended in the 2015 edition of the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships in the elite level. We asked their Team Manager Ms. Jana Baghdadi about Lebanon’s current boxing life, their programs and background in the country.
“The Lebanese Boxing Federation wasn’t practicing any activities in the past year because of the challenges that faced the LBF but luckily and thanks to Mr, Mahmoud Hattab our President who worked really hard on saving this sport in Lebanon. He believed in the importance of boxing, plus respecting and appreciating the history of Lebanese boxers on the international and regional level such as Najeeb Saloum and Nadim Saloum.
Now the new members of LBF and the President Mahmoud Hattab and our advisor president of honour for the LBF Mr. Mohamad Khalili are setting a professional plan to reborn the boxing in Lebanon. We will be focusing mostly on; school age players, health care, intensive training camps, increase in number of international certificated coaches and R&Js, raise a good boxing environment in Lebanon. We will be moving and rising step by step to make sure we are working and following the rules and giving the game chances to the boxers and all their rights and needs.
Due to the crises and the huge challenges are happening in Lebanon and in the region the Lebanese Boxing Federation are not getting enough financial assistance from the Ministry/ Government. However Mr. Mahmoud Hattab our president is paying a lot to the LBF, where most expenses are being paid by the president.
The level of the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships overall is literally impressive where everything is professional: organization, place, time, event, location, warm-up place, referees & judges, supervisors, ring, and the media. Using latest technologies in social media very high level and updated tools are being used in the competition, hosts, and the monitors, so every single thing is under controlled.
However the level of the boxers who are practicing in the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships is also impressive, beautiful style, remarkable technique and very interesting competition between players, close scores and intensive games. I’m so proud to see that Asia is on the top level in boxing.
It’s so important to our boxer and to the Lebanese Boxing Federation to participate in this marvellous championship that increased our experience and where we learned a lot of it. Nevertheless it is motivate LBF and our boxers to keep on working really hard on rising the boxing in Lebanon.
Many thanks for experiencing this spectacular championship, and thumbs up for each member of ASBC and organizers of the championship for their professional job. We are proud to be part of it. ,”
said Ms. Jana Baghdadi the Team Manager of the Lebanese delegation in the venue of the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships.
