Mrs. Nadia Abdelhameed is Iraq’s new manager

Mrs. Nadia Abdelhameed has been appointed as the Executive Director of the Iraqi Boxing Federation and she moved to Baghdad in the previous weeks. The Egyptian coach and manager will support the daily work of the Iraqi Boxing Federation and their development programs in several areas.

Mrs. Nadia Abdelhameed was born in 1989 and she represented Egypt in several boxing events including the 2008 edition of the Women’s World Boxing Championships where she reached the quarter-finals in Ningbo City, China. She earned bronze medal in the famous Ahmet Comert Tournament in Turkey and several national titles.

Following her active boxing career, she joined the coaching staff of the Egyptian national team and she worked hard on the progress of their youth and elite boxers. Mrs. Nadia Abdelhameed was also member of several committees, she has done her 3-stars coaching degree a few years ago.

Iraq is planning to send three boxers to the 1st World Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event to Busto Arsizio, Italy which will start from February 29. The team contains the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships silver medallist Ali Qasim Hamdan Al-Sarray (63.5kg) as well who claimed a bronze medal at the recent Asian Games.

Mrs. Nadia Abdelhameed will be the extra team official in the upcoming 1st World Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event and she will support Team Iraq in this important international elite competition which is the second chance for them to qualify for Paris.

The President of the Iraqi Boxing Federation, the ASBC Board member Mr. Ali Takleef has strong future plans and their youth and junior teams have already proved their potentials in the previous Asian Championships.
