Mr. Kairat Satzhanov and Mr. Shamil Safiullin are the new elite head coaches in Kazakhstan

The Kazakhstan Boxing Federation changed two important positions in their coaching staff which were the conclusions of the recent Tokyo Olympic Games where the country claimed only two bronze medals. The management of the Kazakhstan Boxing Federation decided to involve new top coaches to the elite national team to reach better results in the new Olympic cycle and also at the Paris 2024 edition.

Mr. Kairat Satzhanov is the new men’s elite head coach and replaced Mr. Galymbek Kenzhebayev who hold the position since January 1, 2019. Mr. Kairat Satzhanov was head coach of the junior national team from 2011 until 2018 when his squad topped the team rankings at the Shymkent 2013 ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships and at the Puerto Princesa 2017 ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships. His junior boxers claimed several medals including titles at the 2013 and 2015 AIBA Junior World Boxing Championships.

Mr. Kairat Satzhanov joined to the youth national team in 2019 as head coach and impressed in the recent three major championships. Their male youth talents topped the medal rankings at the Ulaanbaatar 2019 ASBC Asian Youth Boxing Championships firstly and one of his pupils was named as the best boxer of the event.

Following that success, the Kazakh talents claimed five medals including two gold at the Kielce 2021 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships. Mr. Kairat Satzhanov’s youth team won eight out of the possible 13 gold medals at the recent Dubai 2021 ASBC Asian Youth Boxing Championships.

Kazakhstan qualified only one female boxer, Nadezhda Ryabets to the Tokyo Olympic Games therefore another important change has been done in their elite women’s team. The new head coach is Mr. Shamil Safiullin, another experienced coach who supported the success of the Kazakh squads in several big events in the previous two and half decades.
