Meet the new president of the Asian Boxing Confederation – MR. PICHAI CHUNHAVAJIRA (THA)
The elections of March 12, 2022 at the Extraordinary Congress of the Asian Boxing Confederation (ASBC) in Amman, Jordan resulted in the election of Thailand Boxing Association (TBA) president Pichai Chunhavajira as the new head of the confederation.
Chunhavajira is a prominent businessman-sportsman and has held several important positions in the international boxing community.
He has been Executive Committee member of AIBA, Vice-President of ASBC and in Thailand, he is currently a vice-president of the Thai National Olympic Committee.
As a business and corporate man, he has held several sensitive and top positions in various major corporations in Thailand such as PTT Exploration and Production, Bank of Thailand, Thai Lube Base Public co., Ltd, MFC Asset Management, among others.
He was first elected president of TBA in 2013 and is now serving his 4th term as chief executive of the federation.
He is a strong proponent for a clean environment and has promoted the advocacy in all his endeavors.
He ran for the ASBC presidency on a platform of transparency, accountability, inclusivity and an all-out effort for the retention of Boxing in the Olympic Programme.
Along with the members of the new ASBC Board of Directors, Chunhavajira’s term will end in 2024.
