Medallists from World events are guaranteed high quality of boxing in the upcoming Indonesian President’s Cup

The Indonesian President’s Cup is one of the most traditional Asian boxing competitions and the new 23rd edition will be coming soon in the second part of July. The Australian, the host Indonesians, the South Korean, the Indian, the Italian and the Thai team will be guaranteed top quality of matches in the new edition.
The city of Labuan Bajo and Indonesian Boxing Association will be hosting the 23rd edition of the President’s Cup this year. Indonesia’s traditional boxing event will be held for the elite women and men boxers in Labuan Bajo in July 20-29. The teams and the delegations will be arriving to the Komodo International Airport on July 20.
The following 19 nations registered to take part in the Indonesian President’s Cup: Afghanistan, Australia, Hong Kong, India, host Indonesia, Italy, South Korea, Kuwait, Macau, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Timor Leste, Ukraine, United States of America and Vietnam.
The competitors will be arriving to Indonesia from four different continents as Asia, America, Europe and Oceania also registered to send teams to Labuan Bajo. The host Indonesians will be competing in the President’s Cup with three different female and male teams which could be another selection among them for the later actions.
Indonesia’s heroes in the recent big competitions as APB boxer Kornelis Kwangu Langu, Southeast Asian Games winner Aldoms Suguro, Sunan Agung Amoragam, Farand Papendang and Asian Games bronze medallist Huswatun Hasanah all will be attending in the President’s Cup in Labuan Bajo.
India’s Hamburg 2017 AIBA World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Gaurav Bidhuri (56kg) and his teammate Commonwealth Games runner-up Manish Kaushik (60kg) are involved to the competition. Medallists from the last AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships as India’s Sonia Chahal (57kg) and Simranjit Kaur (60kg) also selected to attend in the Indonesian President’s Cup.
The competition will be one of the highlights in the month of July parallel with the Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament and short after the Republic of Kazakhstan President’s Cup in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara.
The women boxers will be able to attend in six weight classes in Labuan Bajo: light flyweight (48kg), flyweight (51kg), bantamweight (54kg), featherweight (57kg), lightweight (60kg) and light welterweight (64kg).
The men’s event is scheduled to be held in eight different categories: pinweight (46kg), light flyweight (49kg), flyweight (52kg), bantamweight (56kg), lightweight (60kg), light welterweight (64kg), welterweight (69kg) and middleweight (75kg).
The gold, silver and bronze medalists and the best team of the event will be received money prizes at the 23rd President’s Cup. The first edition of the President’s Cup was held still back in 1976 and the last one in 2015.
