Macau Boxing Association is planning to host its Open Boxing Championships and the National R&J Course still in 2020

Macau Boxing Association was active in the recent months in spite of the difficulties which affected the country’s boxing life. Their next projects are the National Referee & Judge Course and the Macau Open Boxing Championships which is their traditional international competition for the neighboring nations.

The National Referee & Judge Course is planning to be held in November to teach the scoring system, the grassroots and the new rules for their referees and judges. The program will be contained practical and theoretical parts and the educational project supports the development of their new national level referees and judges.

The Macau Open Boxing Championships was scheduled in August but due to the bad health situation, the country had to move the international event into a new date. Macau Boxing Association re-scheduled the Macau Open Boxing Championships for the female and male boxers and will be held in December. Chinese boxers are expected to take part in this invitational tournament which could be one of the first events after the long break.

Macau Boxing Association hosted its Physical Fitness and Shadowboxing Challenge in August to stay active their players and youth talents. The winners of the three categories were Chan Man Man, Leong Teng Chon and Alvin John Reyes Salinas in the Challenge. Macau’s ITO and boxing official Mr. Billy Vong was the main organizer of the Physical Fitness and Shadowboxing Challenge and all of their other kind of activities. The promotional video of the Physical Fitness and Shadowboxing Challenge was arranged by the Macau Boxing Association at the St. Paul’s Arch in July and reached high number of people. Macau’s best boxer, 2019 Indonesian President’s Cup silver medallist Leong Kin Fong was the actor in the PR video but in the challenge he was only runner-up in the elite men’s category.
