Jordan International Boxing Tournament could be another highlight in December
Jordan Amateur Boxing Association will launch a new international event to raise their boxers’ experiences just before the Olympic Qualifiers. Amman will be the host of the Jordan International Boxing Tournament which to be scheduled between 16-20 December.
The competition is scheduled also for women boxers which will be the very first international event for the ladies in the Western Asian region. Four weight classes have been scheduled for women boxers: 51 kg, 60 kg, 69 kg and 75 kg.
Jordan launched its new women team this year and their new squad will be competing in the AIBA Asian & Oceanian Olympic Qualifiers and also in the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships in 2016.
The Jordan International Boxing Tournament will be scheduled also in ten weight categories for men: 49 kg, 52 kg, 56 kg, 60 kg, 64 kg, 69 kg, 75 kg, 81 kg, 91 kg and +91 kg. Before the Jordan International Boxing Tournament the Jordan Amateur Boxing Association are planning to host an international training camp between 5-15 December.
Mr. Walid Jarrar the Chairman of the ASBC Competition Commission is a key person in Jordan’s boxing life who is working hard to raise his country’s possibilities in our sport together with Mr. Azzedine Aggoune who is their new head coach in the Jordan national boxing team and arrived from Algeria to improve their level.
Hussein Iashaish was in the Top8 at the Doha 2015 AIBA World Boxing Championships in October and planning to get a gold in the upcoming event. Jordan’s next boxer who could qualify to the Doha 2015 AIBA World Boxing Championships was their veteran star Ihab Darweish Al-Matbouli who had injuries in Bangkok and also in Qatar but he has got also great plans in the upcoming event.
Before the Jordan International Boxing Tournament there will be a selection event for the host nation’s elite women and men athletes.
