ASBC EC member and President of the United Arab Emirates Boxing Federation Mr. Anas Naser Al-Otaiba has been working hard together with the management of ASBC to raise the level of boxing in the important Western Asian region. Mr. Anas Al-Otaiba sent record number of seven boxers from the United Arab Emirates to the ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships to Puerto Princesa.
He arrived to the venue of the ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships to Puerto Princesa before the first competition day and following the performance of our continent’s top boxers and their UAE talents.
“The level of the ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships is amazing here in the Puerto Princesa, I am satisfied with the performance of the athletes in the competition.
We are able to follow the performance of our future champions and in comparison to our ASBC Asian Confederation Elite Boxing Championships we could realize our development. One of my favourite boxer here is Japan’s Sora Tanaka who is not only a technical fighter but he is stronger than most of the athletes in this weight class.
We are here with seven boxers from the United Arab Emirates which is record in our history and feels great to join to the Asian boxing map with a big delegation. We are here in Puerto Princesa with our juniors boxers and I hope they could realize the level of the top Asian countries.
Our junior boxers arrived from different cities of the United Arab Emirates therefore they will be able to send the messages through the country where we are now in boxing and how can we develop our sport. Boxing is not enough popular in the United Arab Emirates yet but we joined back to the international level. We competed also in the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships in Tashkent with one boxer at the very first time in the history of the elite event.
Our developing programs are running in the United Arab Emirates and we will be waiting for its benefits and results in the upcoming years. We are working on to develop our promotion and sponsorship in the United Arab Emirates. Currently we have got more than 200 boxers in the United Arab Emirates in each age group and five national events every year.
We have discussed with Jordan’s ASBC EC member Mr. Walid Jarrar that we have to host the Arab Championships for the elite boxers still this year to develop our region. We are planning to host the Gulf Countries Championships next year and we are also open to organize an ASBC championship in 2018.
We know we have to still develop all aspects of boxing and we are working on all areas to achieve our goals in the future. We have got still more than three years until the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games,”
said Mr. Anas Naser Al Otaiba who is following the bouts of the ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships from the venue in Puerto Princesa.
