Kyrgyzstan exceeded the expectations with their five guaranteed medals in the ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships in Puerto Princesa.
“The ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships is my first ever continental event as Referee & Judge and I was so excited before the start of the competition here in Puerto Princesa.
Used to be I was a boxer in Kyrgyzstan and I could compete also in a few international events besides to my national competitions. I competed in the 2010 AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships in Barbados which was an amazing experience for me as an athlete and I felt this atmosphere would be the best for me in the future.
I have done my 2-AIBA-stars examination successfully and I worked smaller international and national events during my Referee & Judge career in the recent years. I am dreaming about to work in an AIBA World Boxing Championships and later in an Olympic Games.
Jamila Borkoyeva is my woman Referee & Judge colleague in Kyrgyzstan who has done her successful 2-stars examination by the time of the Ulaanbaatar Box Cup in Mongolia. Our best Referees & Judges in Kyrgyzstan are Mr. Mukash Yrsaliev and Mr. Aytiyev while we have got 12 1-AIBA-star Referees & Judges in the country.
I was so nervous in my first bout which was the opening contest of the whole ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships in Puerto Princesa. I felt the pressure in the opening bout of the event but I was trying to handle it and kept the focus until the end of my first contest here.
Sometimes I was only thinking about it how I lucky I am because I can follow all of the bouts from one metre distance in my beloved sport. I recognized several strong boxers here and I was happy to see nice actions from these talented boys ringside.
Kyrgyzstan achieved five medals in the ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships here in Puerto Princesa which is amazing performance from our team. Kenzhebek Akelbayev is the head coach of the team while his prizes tournament is running now in Balykchi, Kyrgyzstan,“
