Asian stars coast to Uzbekistan elite finals

ASBC Asian champions stamped their class with dominant semifinal victories en route to the gold medal round of the Uzbekistan Elite National Championships 2022 in Tashkent.

Rio Olympics and three-time Asian elite titlist Hasanboy Dusmatov decimated Kuwait International Tournament winner Abdumajid Mannopov, 5-0, to enter the men’s flyweight (51kg) final.

Youth world and ASBC U22 champ Shakhzod Muzaffarov smothered Shakhbozbek Tolibjonov, 5-0, in bantamweight (54kg) while two-time ASBC elite winner Nodirjon Mirzakhmedov mauled Doniyor Bekmurodov, 5-0, in minimumweight (48kg).

Ex-world and Asian elite champion Mirazizbek Mirzakhalilov manhandled Ayubkhon Bakhtiyorov for a unanimous decision in the featherweight (57kg) class.

In the women’s tournament, Uzbekistan’s first female World Championships medalist Aziza Yokubova notched a second-round RSC victory against Laylo Khamidova in light flyweight (50kg).

ASBC U22 winner Sabina Bobokulova set up a final bout versus Yokubova after chalking up an 5-0 rout of Diyana Turabekova.

Youth world and Asian junior champ Nigina Uktamova stopped Munavvar Fozilova in bantamweight while Tokyo Olympics quarterfinalist Raykhona Kodirova posted a 4-1 win over Dilfuza Bekova in lightweight (60kg). Nearly 300 boxers joined the national championships where experienced international technical officials Mr. Andrew Caulfield of Scotland and Mr. Zoltan Szalma of Hungary are serving as Observer and Evaluator, respectively.
