Asia claimed all of the five female gold medals in the Wuhan World Military Games

The female gold medals are revealed in the boxing tournament of the World Military Games which is holding in the city of Wuhan, China. All of the five gold medals remained in the Asian continent, China bagged four while DPR Korea on title in the women’s finals. The men’s semi-finals were also dominated by the Asian boxers in the sixth day of boxing.

Host China, DPR Korea, India, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Mongolia, Thailand and Uzbekistan are the bests in the boxing tournament of the World Military Games in Wuhan. All of them have got medallists in the World Military Games in Wuhan which will be also the venue of the 2020 Asian & Oceanian Olympic Qualification Event.

China’s Wu Yu defeated DPR Korea’s AIBA Women’s World Champion Pang Chol Mi in the final of the flyweight (51kg)
China competed in the flyweight (51kg) with many top boxers in the recent two years but their new sensation Wu Yu was involved to their squad this time. The Chinese boxer moved up from the light flyweight (48kg) and she impressed in the final when she met with DPR Korea’s No.1 Pang Chol Mi who was AIBA Women’s World Champion in 2018 and ASBC Asian Women’s Champion. Wu Yu was slightly better than her North Korean rival in the day of the finals and delivered a big sensation on Day6 with her gold medal.

China’s next three female gold medals were achieved by Liu Piaopiao, Xu Zichun and Dou Dan
China’s second gold medal in the World Military Games was achieved by Liu Piaopiao who moved up to the featherweight (57kg) and has done enough to beat Russia’s experienced Saiana Sagataeva in the final. China’s lightweight (60kg) boxer Xu Zichun made one of the biggest sensations in the day of the female finals and triumphed over Brazil’s defending AIBA Women’s World Champion Beatriz Ferreira getting the gold of the lightweight (60kg). China’s AIBA Women’s World Champion Dou Dan achieved the country’s four-in-a-row gold medal and defeated DPR Korea’s Kim Jin Son in the final of the welterweight (69kg).

DPR Korea’s woman title was taken by Pak Un Sim
DPR Korea sent a tough team to the World Military Games and three of their female stars advanced to the finals of the multisport event. Following Pang Chol Mi’s and Kim Jin Son’s silver medals, their third finalist Pak Un Sim had strong motivation to get the gold medal in Wuhan. The 26-year-old North Korean middleweight (75kg) boxer surprised China’s Zheng Lu in the first round with her effective tactic. Pak achieved medals in the recent ASBC Asian Boxing Championships but this time she reached the top of the podium.

An Asian final will be held at the men’s light flyweight (49kg)
Kazakhstan’s WSB Team Champion and Amman 2013 ASBC Asian Champion Temirtas Zhussupov eliminated Colombia’s Cristian Camilo Torres in the quarter-finals and he was slightly quicker than DPR Korea’s Kim Jang Ryong in the semi-finals of the light flyweight (49kg). The North Korean was competitive only in the final round which means Zhussupov will be boxing for the title with another Asian boxer, India’s ASBC Asian Boxing Championships silver medallist Deepak.

Another Asian final to be scheduled at the men’s flyweight (52kg)
Mongolia’s Enkhmandakh Kharkhuu delivered the main sensation of the male quarter-finals in Wuhan where he defeated India’s AIBA World Boxing Championships silver medallist Amit Panghal but he suffered a loss to DPR Korea’s strong Ri Sung Jin in the day of the semi-finals. The North Korean will be meeting for the gold medal of the category with China’s Zhang Guo who performed strongly against South Korea’s Kang Dong Heon in the second semi-finals of the weight class.

Uzbekistan vs. Kazakhstan in the final of the male welterweight (69kg)
Kazakhstan’s Incheon 2018 Asian Games silver medallist Aslanbek Shymbergenov lost his top place at the welterweight (69kg) in his homeland but he has the strong motivation to regain it. The 26-year-old WSB Team Champion used his longer reach to beat Thailand’s three-time Olympian Saylom Ardee and advanced to the finals of the World Military Games. The Kazakh boxer will be meeting for the gold with Uzbekistan’s ASBC Asian Youth Champion Bilolbek Mirzarakhimov who controlled all of the rounds against Germany’s Paul Wall in Wuhan.
