ASBC President Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira and the ASBC management send their sincere condolence to the Schuster’s family

The President of the Asian Boxing Confederation Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira of Thailand and the whole ASBC management send their sincere condolences to the Schuster’s family following Mrs. Ina Ruby Schuster passed away due to a cancer disease. The former boxer, a beloved community person, worked as an international Referee & Judge in the recent years and she was a mother as well.

His father was a well-known boxing coach in New Zealand, Henry Schuster who worked as a trainer with the country’s stars as the Olympic medallist and professional World Champion David Tua, Oceanian Champion Shane Cameron and many others.

As a boxer, Ina Ruby Schuster claimed a gold medal at the 2000 New Zealand Junior National Championships and at the 2005 New Zealand Women’s Elite National Championships.

Following her active career, she became referee and judge and worked in several editions in the New Zealand National Championships and New Zealand National Golden Gloves Tournament. She associated several stars during her work including New Zealand’s Tokyo Olympics bronze medallist David Nyika.

She worked at the South Pacific Games in 2019 and at the Thailand Open Boxing Tournament in Phuket on April 2022. She became the President of the New Zealand Boxing Referees and Judges’ Association in 2021.

The Asian Boxing Confederation and the Asian Boxing Family will never forget her hard work, positive personality, talent and attitude to our beloved sport.

May her soul will rest in eternal peace in New Zealand.
