ASBC medallists dominated the Kazakhstan Women’s Youth National Championships

The Kazakhstan Women’s Youth National Championships was a five-day long competition in the capital city of Astana. Among the winners, Yelyanur Turganova, Ayazhan Yermek, Aruzhan Zhanabayeva, Shugila Nalibay, Aruzhan Zeynollayeva and Panar Seitkhankyzy are all have strong international results.

Kazakhstan’s youth and junior talents impressed in the last edition of the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships in Astana and also at the Junior World Boxing Championships in Yerevan, Armenia. Altogether 100 girls competed at the Kazakhstan Women’s Youth National Championships in Astana from the 2006 and 2007 age groups.

The Turkestan region was the most successful in the Women’s Youth National Championships with four gold medals. The city of Almaty had six finalists in the event and among them three claimed the titles in Astana. The Zhetysu region was the number three on the medal standings ahead of Astana, the Karagandy region and the Dzhambul region.

The minimumweight (48kg) was the busiest category in the national event with 14 girls in the participation list. Dzhambul region’s Anel Abdrasilova won all of her contests unanimously including her final against Aizhan Murat.

The defending ASBC Asian Youth Champion at the light flyweight (50kg), Yelyanur Turganova had to do her very best in the final of the national event but she succeeded over a promising talent, Aibegim Kazhimukhan from the Mangystau region.

Turkestan region’s Bagzhan Otynbay eliminated a top rival already in the semi-finals, Shakhnaz Tairzhanova and she continued her winning path against Almaty’s Rakhmina Abdumezhitova for the title of the flyweight (52kg).

The star of the bantamweight (54kg), Ayazhan Sydyk was not able to compete in the first preliminary round therefore the gold medal of the category went to Liya Abdullayeva. Two 16-year-old talents such as Ayaru Serikbay (57kg) and Ayazhan Yermek (60kg) won the next two busy weight categories.

Aruzhan Zhanabayeva is one of the most experienced talents in their 2006 age group who defeated Ayaulym Yesbosynova in the final of the light welterweight (63kg). Shugila Nalibay won the title at the middleweight (75kg) in the ASBC Asian Youth Boxing Championships and she continued her winning path in the Nationals against Mariya Sidorenko.

Akbota Yesimbekova, Aruzhan Zeynollayeva and Panar Seitkhankyzy all were medallists at the ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships and quarter-finalists at the Junior World Boxing Championships this year. All of the three 16-year-old talents on their tight final bouts in the Youth National Championships.
