Thirteen Asian teams will be using the Korotkov Memorial Tournament as preparation for the Asian Games

The Korotkov Memorial Tournament will be held in the city of Khabarovsk which is located in the Russian Far East. The competition will be starting with its first competition day tomorrow on May 16 in Khabarovsk where several Asian teams are attending as the preparation for the boxing tournament of the Asian Games.
Konstantin Korotkov was the hero of the Soviet Union and the important competition was named after him. Ten male and five women weight classes will be held in the Korotkov Memorial Tournament where 13 Asian countries confirmed their participation. The finals will be held in Khabarovsk on May 20.
Among the Asian countries China, DPR Korea, Japan, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Philippines, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Vietnam will be attending in the upcoming Korotkov Memorial Tournament which will be one of the strongest AOB elite tournaments in the month of May.
South Korea’s AIBA World Boxing Championships silver medallist Shin Jong Hun (men’s 49kg), Philippines’ AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships silver medallist Nesthy Petecio (women’s 57kg), Japan’s AIBA Youth World Champion Hayato Tsutsumi (men’s 56kg), Vietnam’s AIBA Women’s Junior World Champion Vuong Thi Vy (women’s 57kg) and DPR Korea’s promising woman star Pang Chol Mi (women’s 51kg) are also the Asian participants of the Korotkov Memorial Tournament.
