Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Sri Lanka are attending in a common Training Camp in Almaty

Our continent’s countries have been preparing hard to the Asian Games and other important competitions therefore Kazakhstan Boxing Federation is hosting an international training camp as the first step of the preparation. Next to the Kazakh teams, Sri Lanka and Kyrgyzstan are also taking part in the training and sparring camp in Almaty.
The Indonesian capital Jakarta will be the host of the upcoming Asian Games which will be taking place from August 18 until September 2. For the elite women and men boxers the Asian Games will be the most important competition this year besides to the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships.
The common training and sparring camp started on February 16 and will be holding until March 3 in Almaty. There are two trainings every day in the camp and the teams are working to raise their technique in the morning session with schools and shadow boxing. The coaches are planning to start the sparring with 8 rounds and to increase it up to 20 until the end of the camp.
The training camp consists altogether four sparring sessions between the participating teams and boxers in Almaty. The training programs were arranged by Ukraine’s top coach Mr. Vladimir Vinnikov who trained their former AIBA World Champion Taras Shelestyuk and several big stars in our sport.
Kyrgyzstan hosted the Duisenkul Shopokov Memorial Tournament two weeks ago where their boxers claimed seven gold medals. A smaller group of the Kyrgyz boxers are attending in the currently running Strandja Memorial Tournament in Sofia, Bulgaria but their head coach Mr. Daniyar Jusubaliev called up 16 athletes to the training camp. Kyrgyzstan is planning to send big delegations to the upcoming main events therefore the common sparring with the Kazakh team is important for their development.
Sri Lanka sent 12 boxers to the training camp which is part of their preparation to the upcoming Commonwealth Games which will be holding in Gold Coast, Australia in April. Their top boxers as Anusha Dilrukshi Kodituwakku and Dushan Dinidu Saparamadu are aiming for medals in the Commonwealth Games therefore they are already near to their top shape. The General Secretary of the Sri Lankan Boxing Association also arrived to the training camp to Almaty to visit the development of their boxers.
The host Kazakhstan is attending in the camp with two squads but the city Almaty of Almaty and Almaty region have got also own teams there. Kazakhstan was No.2 in the team rankings of the Tashkent 2017 ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships therefore their squad is planning to regain the throne in the Asian Games in August and these kind of camps help them to achieve their goals.
