Ngongo, Radja, Machor and Nanlohy are the top future hopes in the Indonesian Youth & Junior National Championships

The Indonesian Youth & Junior National Boxing Championships was held in the city of Kupang where the competition was held in 19 different weight categories. Saphira Glory Maniagala, Isyah Al Jufri, experienced Erniati Ngongo, Clivert Alvaro Radja, Claudio Surati, Alexandro Tatim, Joshua Holy Machor, Michael Muskita and ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships competitor Alfino Caesar Nanlohy are not well known boxers yet but they could the Indonesian future hopes.
Indonesia has got strong woman boxing team and their youth talents have been preparing for the qualification event of the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games. The Indonesian women’s youth talents could not take part in the AIBA Women’s Youth World Boxing Championships in Guwahati in India due financial reasons but the country is fully concentrating to the Jakarta 2018 Asian Games which will be taking place in August.
Saphira Glory Maniagala amazed the judges with her strong performance when she met in the final of the women’s youth pinweight (45kg) with Jihan Mainong. The 17-year-old talent won the first title in the national event and after her success the second gold medal was achieved by Indonesian Women’s Junior National Boxing Championships silver medallist Rany Ballu who was able to beat Sinta Augustin.
In the absence of ASEAN Youth Boxing Championships silver medallist and National Champion strong Ainun Azizah another young talent Isyah Al Jufri captured the gold medal of the women’s flyweight (51kg). The 17-year-old boxer was able to beat Alfionita Manopo in the final of the event which was the closest bout in the women’s youth part in Kupang.
The title of the women’s youth bantamweight (54kg) went to Marhayati who defeated Pagan Kristina Angela Liko in the final by split decision. Erniati Ngongo is a strong boxer in the women’s youth level who could be Indonesia’s next young hope in the international events therefore her success over Nihayatul Maula was not a surprise in Kupang.
Clivert Alvaro Radja achieved the first title among the men junior boxers who defeated all of his rivals by large margin of difference and proved he is one the best Indonesian hope in this age group. Nicky Alvianto Sergio Dura claimed the next gold medal among the juniors following his success over Alexander Nazar in the final of the pinweight (46kg).
Claudio Surati is a talented 15-year-old Indonesian boy who did his very best in the final of the light flyweight (48kg) against Risky Daffa. Alexandro Tatim, Emanuel Christo Mau Bere, Michail Awuy and Felix Ririmase secured the further gold medals in the Indonesian Junior National Championships.
The first gold medal in the men’s part of the Indonesian Youth National Championships was achieved by Zanwar Irfani who had a tough rival in the final of the event. Junior National Champion 18-year-old Joshua Holy Machor delivered one of the biggest sensation in the national event when he defeated national team member Willem Batuwael in the final of the youth light flyweight (49kg).
Reindy Marcelino Oil defeated also a favourite in the event and demonstrated his power against Iman Josua Simorangkir who came from a boxing family. Yohanes Maimina and Soleman Panggat both won their youth weight classes winning their finals by split decisions before Junior National Champion Michael Muskita’s great show who was in different level than all of his opponents at the youth light welterweight (64kg).
Alfino Caesar Nanlohy competed in the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships in Bangkok in July and the young talent celebrated his 18th birthday with a title in the event. Indonesia’s strong youth talent defeated Ahmad Zuhdan Dardiri in the final of the welterweight (69kg) and took his next national title.
