Bahrain Boxing Federation signed with former GB staff member Mr. Tony Davis as new head coach

The Bahrain Boxing Federation is more active than ever in their short history and the country is ready to attend at the upcoming ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships in Bangkok which will be their first participation in the continental level. Bahrain Boxing Federation signed with former coach of the Great Britain team with Mr. Tony Davis who is one of the most experienced experts in Europe.
Two of their new boxers including one woman will be attending in the continental level at the very first time raising the number of the nations in Thailand’s capital. Bahrain’s first female boxer Noorineesa Noorahmed Ameer Jan will be attending in the women’s flyweight (51kg) in Bangkok. Their 20-year-old Muhammad Bilal Muhammad Zaman Moshwani boxer will be competing at the men’s flyweight (52kg) in Thailand’s capital.
Mr. Khalid Aziz Alkhayyat the President of the Bahrain Boxing Federation asked Mr. Tony Davis to support their team and prepare them in the future. Mr. Tony Davis is originally from Low Fell, United Kingdom and had more than 20 years of experiences in our sport.
As a boxer Tony Davis won the light heavyweight (81kg) national title in England in 2002 and attended several competitions. He coached the British Army team alongside his role as the Head of the Physical Development following his athlete career.
In 2013 he joined to the coaching staff of the Great Britain high performance team and one of his main pupils was WSB star Calum French. England reached powerful results in the recent years, medals in the AIBA, EUBC and Commonwealth events. He left the GB coaching staff last December and joined as head coach to the Bahrain Boxing Federation to support the developing Gulf country.
