World class performances in the Kazakh Youth National Games

Kazakhstan Boxing Federation hosted its Youth National Games for the men boxers in the city of Shuchinsk. Five out of the eleven winners of the Kazakhstan Youth National Games were born only in 2000 and these younger talents all can continue their career in the youth age group in the important year of 2018.
The event was the first selection for the upcoming ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships which will be held in Bangkok, Thailand in July 1-7. The Toltayev twin brothers, who are great prospects in Kazakhstan, both won their weight classes in the Youth National Games in Shuchinsk.
The pinweight (46kg) was also held in the Kazakh Youth National Games and the first title was achieved by Akzhol Zaiyp who was bronze medallist in the last edition of their Youth National Championships. He defeated Dmitriy Dzhumagaziyev in the important semi-final and continued his winning series against Aidos Altynbek in the final of the Games.
Timur Kabdeshov claimed bronze medal in the strong Pavlyukov Youth Memorial Tournament in Anapa, Russia and he was one of the favourite of the light flyweight (49kg) in Shuchinsk. The 17-year-old boxer had to meet with Children of Asia Games winner Nursultan Nuridenov in the semi-final but his skills were enough to win that key contest. Following his narrow success he controlled all of the rounds in the final against Merey Kurmangazy.
Bekzat Magzhan claimed gold medal in the 2016 Kazakh Junior National Championships at the 44kg weight class but his title at the flyweight (52kg) was a surprise in Shuchinsk. The 17-year-old boxer defeated Nurbolat Saparbay by 3:2 in the final while the two favourites such as Pavlyukov Youth Memorial Tournament winner Yevgeniy Pavlov and ASBC Asian Junior Champion Aybek Dosanov took only bronze medals in Shuchinsk.
Bakhtiyar Smagulov lost his first bout in the Bekzat Sattarkhanov Youth Memorial Tournament one and half month ago but this time he did much better in Shuchinsk. Smagulov, who acquired silver medal in their 2016 Youth National Championships, eliminated Alimzhan Tursunov in the semi-final and controlled his gold medal bout against Mukhamedali Sydyk.
AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships silver medallist Samatali Toltayev moved up to the lightweight (60kg) in the recent months and did not give any chance to his opponents in the Youth National Games. The 17-year-old talent triumphed over Rakhat Seitzhan and Khromov Junior Tournament winner Talgat Shaykenov in the final phase of the Games while AIBA Junior World Champion Daulet Nysan lost his quarter-final bout in Shuchinsk.
Samatali’s twin brother ASBC Asian Junior Champion Sanatali Toltayev was the favourite of the light welterweight (64kg) and he demonstrated his power against his opponents. The 17-year-old talent stopped Heydar Aliyev Junior Cup silver medallist Nurbol Sultanbay in a quick semi-final bout and defeated also ASBC Asian Junior Champion Abylai Ibraimov for the title of the Games.
Children of Asia Games winner Yermakhan Zhakpekov is a super talented welterweight (69kg) boxer who defeated ASBC Asian Junior Champion Aldiyar Tursynali in the semi-final and continued his strong performance against another experienced international boxer Aybol Zhambirbay. Governor Junior Cup winner and AIBA Junior World Boxing Championships quarter-finalist Daulet Zaushev was not able to get any medal in Shuchinsk.
Children of Asia Games silver medallist Ayat Marzhikpayev has been competing in the international level since 2014 and came from a boxing family. His genetics was enough to win the title of the middleweight (75kg) against Zhetysu Youth Cup winner strong Daryn Imakhanov while Beken Pernekhan claimed only bronze medal in the event.
Zhetysu Youth Cup winner and ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships bronze medallist Eldiyar Kamchibekov won the title of the light heavyweight (81kg) after beating Khromov Junior Tournament silver medallist Nurbek Oralbay in the final. Beket Makhmutov Youth Tournament winner Daulet Yesenov and strong Daryn Berikzhanov achieved only bronze medals in the Games.
Children of Asia Games winner and Khromov Junior Tournament winner Aybek Oralbay was born only in 2000 and following his tight semi-final bout against Vladislav Dulin he stopped Meirambek Berganayev in the final of the heavyweight (91kg). Former national team member Elkhan Tabynbayev failed to get any medal in the Youth National Games.
Pavlyukov Youth Memorial Tournament silver medallist Rustem Bayeshev is also a strong future hope at the super heavyweight (+91kg) who showed his skills already in 2013. The experienced boxer had to do his very best against ASBC Asian Youth Champion Nurdaulet Ulanuly in the final but his height advantage was enough to get the last title.
