Uzbekistan’s next event, the Junior National Championships will be held in the upcoming days with the participation of several ASBC stars

The Uzbekistan Junior National Championships is the next highlight in the country’s boxing life following the hard situation and long quarantine period which will be held in the upcoming days. Uzbekistan’s current junior team is the strongest one in the Asian continent therefore high number of exciting bouts and surprises are expecting from their boxers.

The outstanding Valentin Zolotarev Memorial Tournament was Uzbekistan’s first event since March which followed all of the hygienic and safety rules as in many other countries. The Zolotarev Memorial Tournament was Uzbekistan’s comeback in the boxing map and the country is ready to arrange its next event in Tashkent.

Boxers who were born in 2004 and in 2005 are eligible to attend in the upcoming Uzbekistan Junior National Championships. The Universal Sport Complex will be the venue of the new national event in Tashkent where all of the Uzbek regions and cities are planning to send their best junior talents. More than 250 boxers are expected to attend in the Uzbekistan Junior National Championships.

The Uzbek team impressed in the Fujairah 2019 ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships and among their boxers from the UAE event, some of them are eligible to attend in the Junior National Championships. Bilolbek Ikhvolov and Bekzod Bekmuradov both spent their first years among the junior boxers in 2019 but claimed silver medals in the continental event in Fujairah. ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships bronze medallists Anvar Boltaboyev and Jakhonmurod Imamaliyev can also attend in the upcoming national event.

The Uzbekistan International Junior Boxing Tournament started the year of 2020 in their capital city of Tashkent which saw tough battles between strong nations and talents. Among Uzbekistan’s last year’s schoolboy heroes from Kuwait City, Khumoyunmirzo Abdurasulov, Boburbek Bobojonov, Jakhongir Narziyev and Khusan Rikhsiboyev won their first international junior event and all of them will be there in the new national event. Besides to the official 13 junior weight classes in the international stage, two more categories were added to the official schedule of the event, the 42kg and the 44kg divisions which meant that 15 champions have been crowned in Tashkent on January 2020. The Uzbekistan Junior National Championships will saw also bouts in these weight classes.
