Uzbekistan bares stellar men’s team for Asian elite title defense

Uzbekistan unveiled its star-studded team for its title-retention bid in the men’s division of the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships slated on October 31 to November 13 in Amman, Jordan.

Rio Olympics champion and two-time Asian winner Hasanboy Dusmatov banners the formidable 13-man squad as the 29-year-old former professional boxer competes in the flyweight (51kg) class.

Reigning Asian champ Saidjamshid Jafarov will aim to defend his middleweight (75kg) title while youth world and Asian U22 titlist Shakhzod Muzaffarov will look to add the bantamweight (54kg) gold to his collection.

Ex-Youth Olympics and Youth World Championships winner Abdumalik Khalakov will seek to continue his ascent when he fights in the featherweight (57kg) category.

Defending Asian U22 champs Asilbek Jalilov (minimum-48kg) and Ruslan Abdullayev (light welter-63.5kg) as well as former Asian youth titlist Lazizbek Mullojonov (super heavy-+92kg) will also see action in the upcoming Asian tourney.
