Turgumbekov made the show in the Bishkek City Championships

Kyrgyzstan’s boxing life is very busy this year with a lot of national and international competitions which is the part of their strategy. Their next competition was the Bishkek City Championships where several of their younger boxers were able to get the title together with some experienced veterans.
The men’s elite boxers could compete in the Bishkek City Championships where the number of the athletes was 63. National Champion Rakhmankul Avatov was the main favourite of the light flyweight (49kg) but he was unable to box in the final therefore Iman Zulpukarov of Ak-Bars walked over to the title.
Mirlan Turkbay Uulu is the current National Champion at the light flyweight (49kg) in Kyrgyzstan but this time he competed at the flyweight (52kg) which he won easily against Ulukbek Kyrgyzov. The 27-year-old boxer has been preparing to their National Boxing Championships which is scheduled in the end of November.
Kanatbek Abduvakhob Uulu has been competing in the international events since 2014 and his efforts were enough to beat Islam Kenzhebayev in the final of the bantamweight (56kg). His opponent’s ringside abandoned their contest still in the first round after Abduvakhob Uulu’s lethal combinations.
Roslov Boxing Club’s Erzhan Turgumbekov defeated Bayaman Alimbekov in the semi-final and he did a sensation in the final of the lightweight (60kg) where he was too smart for National Champion Mirbek Sherov. Bulak’s Daniyar Damirdin Uulu eliminated FISU University World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Temirlan Osmonov in the semi-final and continued his winning path against U21 National Champion Argen Kadyrbek Uulu in the final of the light welterweight (64kg).
Samat Zhusupov did strong performance at the welterweight (69kg) where he defeated experienced Talgat Kozubekov and National Championships silver medallist Tilek Olzhobay Uulu as well. AIBA Junior World Boxing Championships bronze medallist 22-year-old Adilet Batyraliev of Spartak moved up to the middleweight (75kg) and dominated his contests in Bishkek including against ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships bronze medallist Abdu-Said Masyumov.
Bulak Boxing Club’s Ilyaz Akmataliyev moved up to the light heavyweight (81kg) but he adopted the strength of the punches and controlled his final against Bekbolsun Toktosun Uulu in the Bishkek City Championships. The 24-year-old Akmataliyev has been preparing also for the Kyrgyz National Boxing Championships where his main rival could be Rio 2016 Olympian Erkin Adylbek Uulu.
Zhaksylyk Kuzaliyev was the defending champion of the Bishkek City Championships at the heavyweight (91kg) and the 21-year-old boxer was able to keep his throne after beating Daniyar Orozbekov in the gold medal bout. Maksim Tkachev is only 19 but Adilet Madaliyev and strong Sanjar Tairov were not able to stop the youngster at the super heavyweight (+91kg) of the Bishkek City Championships.
