Today is the last day for the registrations to the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships as the AIBA Database

Today is the last day for the registrations to the anniversary 10th edition of the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships which will be held in New Delhi, India between November 13 and November 25. The deadline for the registrations to all National Federations in the AIBA Database to the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships is October 5.
New Delhi hosted the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships in 2006 and after 12 years the competition will return to the Indian city. The Asian nations claimed six gold medals in the 2006 AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships in New Delhi where their star five-time winner Chungneijang Mary Kom Hmangte also took a title. Asia’s chances are same high in the new upcoming edition which could be the highlight of November.
The historical first edition of the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships was held in the Unites States in Scranton in 2001. Asia is the general host of the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships and New Delhi will be the four-in-a-row Asian cities organizing the event after Qinhuangdao, Jeju and Kazakhstan’s capital Astana.
The Asian male boxers won 15 medals in the Hamburg 2017 AIBA World Boxing Championships and reached more podium places than other continent’s athletes. The Asian boxers dominated the last edition of the 2016 AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships in Astana where our ladies won six titles. Kazakhstan claimed four, China two gold medals in Astana two years ago but Chinese Taipei, DPR Korea, India and Thailand also achieved podium places.
The team delegations hotel in the forthcoming AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships will be the Ashok Hotel in the Diplomatic Enclave of New Delhi. Boxing Federation of India will be provided airport transfer to and from the Indira Gandhi International Airport in their Welcome Desk upon arrival to New Delhi.
All participating National Federations must arrive to New Delhi before November 13 to be there in the Sports Entries Check in time. All boxers must be accompanied by at least one AIBA certified coach at ringside during the bouts which will be held based on the AIBA Technical & Competition Rules.
