The Uzbekistan Men’s Elite National Championships will be held in Tashkent on December 8-14

The Uzbekistan Men’s Elite National Championships will be held at the Universal Sports Palace in Tashkent as one of their upcoming competitions. As many of the National Championships throughout the whole world, it will be held in the month of December starting on the 8th and finishing on the 14th.

More than 300 boxers are planning to attend in the Uzbekistan Men’s Elite National Championships in Tashkent. All of the region of Uzbekistan, the city of Tashkent and Karakalpakstan will send their best boxers to event. Many of their young hopes will be facing each other to get the spots for the upcoming ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships which is scheduled to be hosted in Tashkent on January 20-30, 2022.

The official thirteen weight classes will be in action at the Uzbekistan Men’s Elite National Championships: minimumweight (48kg), flyweight (51kg), bantamweight (54kg), featherweight (57kg), lightweight (60kg), light welterweight (63.5kg), welterweight (67kg), light middleweight (71kg), middleweight (75kg), light heavyweight (80kg), cruiserweight (86kg), heavyweight (92kg) and super heavyweight (+92kg).

Uzbekistan earned one gold medal at the Tokyo Olympic Games where their star Bakhodir Jalolov topped at the super heavyweight. Abdumalik Khalakov got silver and Madiyar Saidrakhimov bronze at the Belgrade 2021 AIBA World Boxing Championships. Their team impressed in the Dubai 2021 ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships earning six gold medals in the event.

The male finals of the 2020 edition of the Uzbekistan Elite National Championships were held in Tashkent one year ago. Several surprise results have been delivered by young hopes in the day of the finals when Saidjamshid Jafarov, Temurkhon Soburov and Madiyar Saidrakhimov won their elite national titles at the very first time. The youngest winner of the Uzbekistan Elite National Championships was 19-year-old Asadkhudja Muydinkhudjayev.

Boxers who were born between 1980 and 2003 were eligible to attend in the Uzbekistan Elite National Championships in 2020 where the venue was the Universal Sport Complex in Tashkent. The number of the boxers was more than 330 in the Uzbekistan Elite National Championships including 85 female and 248 male boxers in Tashkent. The figures were less than the average from the previous years which is the effect of the pandemic and the long quarantine period. The most popular categories in the national event were the men’s lightweight (60kg) and men’s light welterweight (63kg) where the number of participating boxers are more than 40.
