ASBC President Mr. Anas Alotaiba received the Middle East’s most important trophy the MBR Awards

The Asian Boxing Confederation had a wonderful year in 2021 which is the success of the whole Boxing Family. The next amazing achievement for our continent is that the President of the Asian Boxing Confederation Mr. Anas Alotaiba won the prestigious Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Creative Sports Award following the voting process finished in the United Arab Emirates today.

To get the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Creative Sports Award or shortly known as MBR is a fantastic honour in the United Arab Emirates. The MBR Sports Award is the recognized as the most important sports award not only in the United Arab Emirates but in the whole Middle East which received by the ASBC President at the first time.

“This important Award is a recognition and appreciation of what we do for the sport and this is a reflection of the efforts of the Boxing Family,” commented his award ASBC President Mr. Anas Alotaiba.

The Asian Boxing Confederation hosted its ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships in May before the Olympic Games to give chance for the hopes of the continent. The second big event was the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships in August which saw the two age groups to compete in the same time at the first time. ASBC President supported the idea to host the elite, youth and junior championships in the Asian continent despite of the hard circumstances.

The ASBC President supported the idea to introduce Hijab in the international women’s events and that helped to increase the possibilities of women’s boxing in several Muslim regions. United Arab Emirates and Bahrain started to develop their women’s boxing life after the decision followed by Iraq, Kuwait, Syria and Palestine.

The Asian Boxing Confederation plans record number of five championships in 2022 starting the year with the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. It will be followed the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships, the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships, the ASBC Asian Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships and the ASBC Asian Grand Slam Boxing Championships.
