The Technical Meeting of the Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament was held in Bangkok

The Technical Meeting of the Thailand Open Boxing Tournament was held in the Bangkok Asia Hotel which is the official accommodation place of the team delegations. The Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament is one of the strongest preparation events before the AIBA World Boxing Championships and the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships.
ASBC Vice-President Mr. Chaiwat Chotima opened the Technical Meeting on behalf of the Local Organizing Committee, Asian Boxing Confederation and Thailand Boxing Association. Mr. Keith Walker is the Technical Delegate of the Thailand Open Boxing Tournament who led the Technical Meeting and introduced all important rules, procedures and schedules.
Mr. Keith Walker informed all delegations about the schedule of the competition, the competition venue, the coaches’ requirements, the official draw, the scoring system, the new rules, the anti-doping procedures, the equipments, the uniform guideline, the requirements during the competition and other important issues as well.
AIBA Administrator Mr. Terry Smith of Wales and Mr. Andrew Caulfield of Scotland are the Instructors of the AIBA 3-stars Referee & Judge Course in Bangkok during the Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament. All participants shall to follow the AIBA Disciplinary Code and respect for all rules of the competition
Thailand will have more teams in the Thailand Open Boxing Tournament and their A and B boxers will be selected in the different part of the draw, one of them will be going to the top part and the other to the bottom. The teams and the boxers will be awarded by medals and also cash prizes during the Thailand Open Boxing Tournament in Bangkok.
The International Director of the Thailand Boxing Association Mr. Kraitach Kaewkate welcomed also all participants of the Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament. He underlined that the competition venue is in walking distance from the team hotel. The Opening Ceremony will be held on July 20 in the competition venue before the start of the first competition day.

Italy’s Salvatore Cavallaro dominated his quarter-final at the welterweight (69kg)
The Italian team is attending at the Aitenov Brothers Youth Tournament at the very first time in the history of the event. Following EUBC European Junior Champion Michele Baldassi shined in the second competition day, their welterweight (69kg) No.1 Salvatore Cavallaro also delivered sensational performance in the event. The Italian boxer controlled the first and second rounds against Pavlodar’s Adilbek Serik therefore his opponent’s ringside abandoned their fight in the last period. Russia’s Nikita Nikitin delivered the first KO of the tournament following his tough combinations against Kuandyk Toganbay.
