The team delegations’ handbook of the 2022 ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships sent to all National Federations

The team delegations’ handbook of the forthcoming ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships has been introduced and sent to all of the affiliated National Federations. The next edition of the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships will be held in Amman, Jordan from February 27 until March 15 in 2022.

All of the National Federations have been informed about the necessary arrangements and tournament registrations for the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships in time. The first competition day of the new edition will be March 2 while the finals are scheduled to be held in March 13 and 14.

Altogether 51 female and male champions will be crowned in the competition, 26 junior boxers and 25 youth athletes. Boxers who were born in 2004 and in 2005 will be eligible to attend in the ASBC Asian Youth Boxing Championships. The younger talents from the 2006 and 2007 age groups can compete in the junior part of the championships in Jordan.

The registrations are open in the IBA Database and the National Federations can register the boxers until January 27. All of the national Federations can register reserve boxers in the Database and up to 16 coaches based on the number of their participating athletes. All of the coaches allowed to work in the Field of Play must be IBA certified.

The management of the Asian Boxing Confederation decided to host the event together for the youth and junior boxers at the very first time in August 2021 and the new kind of championship was a success. The number of the junior boxers was 152 in Dubai a few months ago while 141 youth athletes increased the total number of athletes to 293.

Fifteen Asian nations sent their boxers to the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships to Dubai in August 2021: Bahrain, India, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Kuwait, Mongolia, Nepal, Palestine, Sri Lanka, Syria, Tajikistan, host United Arab Emirates and Uzbekistan.

Kazakhstan won eleven gold medals in the youth part of the competition and topped the team and medal standings in Dubai. Uzbekistan earned eight gold medals while India achieved six in the last competition day of the event. Uzbekistan won nine gold medals including three among the girls in the junior part of the 2021 edition and became the No.1 team in Dubai. Kazakhstan and India both won eight titles among the juniors while Iran had one gold in the men’s part of the event.
