The strong Dracula Open Youth & Junior Tournament will take place in Romania on February 11-19

The next edition of the Dracula Open Youth & Junior Tournament will be held in Ploiesti, Romania on February 11-19 in 2024. Ploiesti is a new host city but it has a perfect location to arrange a strong international competition in a few weeks.

Romania’s first international competition in 2024 is the Dracula Open Youth & Junior Tournament and the opening top event for these two age groups in Europe. The registrations are open for all of the National Federations and the Dracula Open will support the preparations for the EUBC Youth European Boxing Championships, the ASBC Asian Youth Boxing Championships and other events.

The Romanian Boxing Federation hosted an international event for the junior and youth boxers in Brasov on February 2022 and the event moved to Arad and renamed to Dracula Open in 2023. The venue of the new competition will be the Polivalenta Hall in Ploiesti in the upcoming new edition.

Boxers from the 2006-2007 age groups can attend in the youth age group. The younger talents who were born in 2008 and in 2009, can compete in the junior part of the Dracula Open. The management of the Romanian Boxing Federation including the President, EUBC Board of Director Mr. Vasile Citea, and the international official Mr. Viorel Sima are the main organizers of the Dracula Open.

The last edition was a huge success with the participation of nearly 400 boxers from 26 countries worldwide. Such strong boxing nations as Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Poland, Italy, Spain, Romania, Hungary, France, Greece, Serbia, Czech Republic, Cyprus and many others competed in the last edition of the Dracula Youth & Junior Open Tournament in 2023.

The women’s junior weight categories: 46kg, 48kg, 50kg, 52kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63kg, 66kg, 70kg, 75kg, 80kg and +80kg

The women’s youth weight categories: 48kg, 50kg, 52kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63kg, 66kg, 70kg, 75kg, 81kg and +81kg

The men’s junior weight categories: 46kg, 48kg, 50kg, 52kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63kg, 66kg, 70kg, 75kg, 80kg and +80kg

The men’s youth weight categories: 48kg, 51kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63.5kg, 67kg, 71kg,75kg, 80kg, 86kg, 92kg and +92kg
