The Kazakhstan Boxing Federation celebrates Day of Boxing and its 85th anniversary

The Kazakhstan Boxing Federation celebrates its 85th anniversary and organized several activities to remember their fantastic history. Kazakhstan performed superbly in the recent decades and it has an important role not only in the Asian continent but all over the globe. Kazakhstan is the lone boxing nation in the whole world which country earned at least one gold medal in each of the boxing tournament of the recent Olympic Games since 1996.
The Day of Kazakhstan Boxing is October 29 therefore the management of the Asian Boxing Confederation including ASBC President and AIBA Vice-President Mr. Serik Konakbayev wishes bright future and strong development to the Kazakhstan Boxing Federation.
The Kazakhstan Boxing Federation hosted several international events in the recent years since Mr. Timur Kulibayev leads the Central Asian boxing power. Their franchise in the World Series Boxing the Astana Arlans Kazakhstan won the team titles three times and the squad was runner-up in Season VIII.
Kazakhstan Boxing Federation hosted the following AIBA events in the recent years: the 2011 AIBA Junior World Boxing Championships in Astana, the 2013 AIBA World Boxing Championships in Almaty and the 2016 AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships in Astana. Furthermore Kazakhstan was the host of the 2013 ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships in Shymkent, and the 2016 ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships in Pavlodar.
Kazakhstan has been dominating the welterweight (69kg) in the Olympic Games since 2004 when their virtuoso boxer Bakhtiyar Artayev won their first gold medal. Since then Bakhyt Sarsekbayev, national icon Serik Sapiyev and Daniyar Yeleussinov repeated his Olympic gold medal and the Central Asian boxing power is hoping to be crowned in this strong category also at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Kazakhstan achieved four gold medals in the Astana 2016 AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships and their female team has been preparing to the upcoming New Delhi event. Kazakhstan’s new elite man squad performed more than well enough in the Hamburg 2017 AIBA World Boxing Championships one year ago. Kairat Yeraliyev achieved the gold medal in Hamburg while five of his teammates took silver and bronze medals in Germany.
Kazakhstan took one gold medal, two silvers and one bronze medal in the boxing tournament of the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games. Kazakhstan topped the team rankings in the ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships in Puerto Princesa one year ago and in the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships in Bangkok this April.
