Aye Nyein Htoo claimed gold medal in the Myanmar State & Division Boxing Tournament

The 46th edition of the Myanmar State & Division Boxing Tournament was held in Nay Pyi Taw which competition is one of the biggest national events of the Southeast Asian country. Aye Nyein Htoo is a top woman future hope in Myanmar who claimed the gold medal in the State & Division Boxing Tournament.
The Thanintharyi Division claimed six gold medals in the Myanmar State & Division Boxing Tournament and topped the team rankings of the event in the capital city. Nay Pyi Taw hosted the 2013 Southeast Asian Games where Myanmar was able to get gold medal in the boxing tournament.
Myanmar attended in the Kuala Lumpur 2017 Southeast Asian Games, in the Ho Chi Minh City 2017 ASBC Asian Confederation Women’s Boxing Championships and in the Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament in Bangkok this July to raise the number of the experiences of their boxers.
Women’s boxers could attend from the pinweight (45kg) up to the lightweight (60kg) and six new champions have been crowned in Nay Pyi Taw. The first gold medal of the Myanmar State & Division Boxing Tournament was achieved by Su Shar Nyo of Thanintharyi Division who defeated Htan Nwann Keng of Chin State in the final of the women’s pinweight (45kg).
The gold medal of the women’s light flyweight (48kg) was taken by Mya Moe Thu of Yangon Division who was too smart for Yin Yin Aung in the final of the event. Aye Nyein Htoo of Thanintharyi Division claimed silver medal in the 2016 Myanmar National Boxing Championships but the talented flyweight (51kg) boxer won her final this time and defeated Nan Hla Hla Htwe of Kayin State in the final.
Ei Phyu Htwe has got international experiences and following her plenty of medals in the national competitions she claimed the title of the women’s bantamweight (54kg) following her success over Byar Myar of Kayah State. The further gold medals in the strong women’s competition were claimed by Shan State’s duo Sein Mya (57kg) and A Mway Hwan (60kg).
The men boxers attended in nine different weight classes from the pinweight (46kg) up to the light heavyweight (81kg) in Nay Pyi Taw. Ye Thuya Aung of Sagaing Division is not a well-experienced boxer yet but he achieved the gold of the lowest man weight class following his success over Tin Aung Lin. Kyaw Hla Mg won Shan State’s lone gold medal in the men’s part of the Myanmar State & Division Boxing Tournament.
Chit Sann Mg of Thanintharyi Division won the final of the flyweight (52kg) where he was too quick for Thuya of Yangon Division. The men’s bantamweight (56kg) is always a strong category in Myanmar which was won by Ye Thiha of Yangon this time following his success over Tun Shwe Lu of Bago Division.
Twe Tar of Thanintharyi Division and Ye Win Aung both impressed in the Myanmar State & Division Boxing Tournament and won their weight classes. Htet Arkar Naing performed strongly at the light heavyweight (81kg) which was his first national title while defending champion Soe Oo claimed only bronze medal this time.
Myanmar’s next national event will be their National Championships which is scheduled to be held still this year. Their upcoming National Boxing Championships is a selection event for the 2019 Southeast Asian Games.
