Astana Arlans Kazakhstan and the Uzbek Tigers won their WSB bouts in Taraz and in Tashkent on Week 7

The exciting Season VII in the World Series of Boxing continued with four superb matches over weekend and our three Asian teams have also attended on Week 7. Astana Arlans Kazakhstan defeated the Russian franchise 4-1 which was their fourth success in Season VII while the Uzbek Tigers delivered 5-0 triumph against China Dragons in Tashkent which was the last match of the weekend.

Astana Arlans Kazakhstan vs. Patriot Boxing Team 4-1
Two-time WSB Team Champion Astana Arlans Kazakhstan won their previous three WSB matches in the difficult Asian Group and had to meet with the Patriot Boxing Team in the city of Taraz on Week 7. The Kazakh boxers won 4-0 after four contests against the Russian franchise and following Magomed Omarov’s last triumph Astana Arlans Kazakhstan was able to win the match 4-1 and remained leader of the Asian Group.
The first success of Astana Arlans Kazakhstan was achieved by ASBC Asian Champion Olzhas Sattibayev who overcame Russia’s Viacheslav Tashkarakov in the attacks and won their flyweight (52kg) which was the first in the lines. Kazakhstan’s second triumph was delivered by Zakir Safiullin who dominated the first four rounds against Artur Subkhankulov with smart boxing and he lost only the final three minutes.
Following Safiullin’s triumph Aslanbek Shymbergenov was able to his 7th WSB bout against a younger Russian hope, Shakhabbas Makhmudov in their welterweight (69kg) contest. Kazakhstan’s former two-time National Champion Arman Rysbek proved much better performance than in Season VI and defeated Russia’s Pavel Silyagin who suffered his first loss in the WSB. The super heavyweight (+91kg) bout was won by Magomed Omarov against Olzhas Bukayev therefore Astana Arlans Kazakhstan could win the match 4-1.

Uzbek Tigers vs. China Dragons 5-0
The Uzbek Tigers had an unlucky loss against China Dragons on Week 1 and the franchise lost its second away match to Astana Arlans Kazakhstan on Week 3. Following their two narrow defeats the Uzbek Tigers proved amazing performance against the Patriot Boxing Team in Tashkent on Week 5 and their boxers dominated their next home contest against China Dragons which was their re-match.
Abrorjon Kodirov was not enough shape in the first round of his flyweight (52kg) but the young Uzbek Tiger turned up the heat and dominated the bout from the second against China Dragons’ Chang Yong who claimed gold medal in the 2011 ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships. The second Uzbek triumph was delivered by Rio 2016 Olympic Games bronze medallist Murodjon Akhmadaliev who was too strong for China’s Wang Sen.
Rio 2016 Olympic Games silver medallist Shakhram Giyasov had to meet with a strong boxer Doha 2015 AIBA World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Liu Wei but he was in different level than his Chinese opponent. Bektemir Melikuziev and Bakhodir Jalolov finished their contests earlier in Tashkent which meant the Uzbek Tigers defeated China Dragons with perfect 5-0 performance.
