The Big Bout, the Indian Boxing League is planning to be hosted between October 19 and November 10

Big Bout is the official name of the Indian Boxing League which is a new program of the Boxing Federation of India. ASBC affiliated member, the Boxing Federation of India is planning to host the League for the women’s and men’s elite athletes from October 19 until November 10 which will be open for foreign boxers as well.
India is one of the most active nations in the international boxing map following their Federation hosted many important competitions. The city of Guwahati hosted the 2017 edition of the AIBA Women’s Youth World Boxing Championships and New Delhi welcomed the best female boxers in the AIBA Women’s Elite Boxing Championships last November.
Boxing Federation of India hosted the Indian Open International Boxing Tournament in 2018 and this year as well with great successes. The Indian boxing teams have been preparing to the upcoming AIBA World Boxing Championships and AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships but their best athletes are ready to attend in the Big Bout following these global challenges.
The men’s weight categories at the Big Bout League will be the flyweight (52kg), the bantamweight (57kg), the welterweight (69kg), the middleweight (75kg) and the heavyweight (91kg). The women boxers also have been involved to the new League and the flyweight (51kg) and the lightweight (60kg) will be introduced during the event.
The Big Bout will be held in Round Robin file format followed by knock out and altogether 18 matches are planned to be hosted in India. Each match to have five bouts and the League is scheduled to take place between six franchises.
