The Asian continent dominate the updated IBA World Ranking – Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and India are the Top3

The President of the Asian Boxing Confederation Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira is proud of the strong efforts of the affiliated National Federations which made the Asian Boxing Confederation to the leader of the official World Ranking.

The International Boxing Association issued its new World Ranking a few months ago which was the introduction of the system. Following some top events, the ranking has been updated and it is revealed that the Asian countries are the bests in the overall national scoring.

Asian powerhouses Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and India dominated the latest International Boxing Association (IBA) world rankings.

Kazakhstan bested the other 134 countries with 48,100 points after showing impressive performances in the Asian Boxing Confederation (ASBC) and global tournaments last year.

The Kazakh boxers bagged numerous medals in the IBA Women’s World Championships, Youth World Championships, Asian Elite Championships and other international tournaments. Kazakhstan hosted several international competitions in the recent months and their management is ready to arrange an ASBC Asian Boxing Championships during the year of 2023.

Uzbekistan has 37600 points in total in the overall IBA ranking and the country is the runner-up in the entire list. The Uzbeks earned historic medals in the last edition of the Women’s World Boxing Championships and their boxers shined in the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships and also at the IBA Youth World Boxing Championships. Uzbekistan will be the host of the next edition of the Men’s Elite World Boxing Championships which is scheduled to be hosted in Tashkent this May.

India is behind the Uzbeks in the overall ranking with more than 36000 points and the country arrived to the Top3 after their fantastic performance in Istanbul, Birmingham, Amman and La Nucia. The management of the Boxing Federation of India has strong plans for 2023 and their capital, New Delhi will be the host of the annual IBA Women’s Elite World Boxing Championships this March.

The other high-ranked Asian National Federations are Thailand (No. 13), Japan (16), Chinese Taipei (18), Mongolia (23), Jordan (30), Philippines (32) and South Korea (34). The Asian nations will look to start the year on a high through the ASBC Asian U22 Championships set on January 16 to 27 in Bangkok, Thailand.
