The Asian Boxing Confederation achieved several of its strategic goals in the recent two years

The Asian Boxing Confederation was established during the Chicago 2007 AIBA World Boxing Championships and lived through its most active period in the recent two years despite of the Covid-19 pandemic. ASBC President Mr. Anas Alotaiba and his management arranged record number of events, new campaigns, historical competitions, educational programs and many other kind of activities in the previous two years.

The Asian Boxing Confederation or shortly ASBC is a combat sport organization which is leading the biggest continent’s boxing life. The Asian Boxing Confederation is the only and official governing body of the boxing sport in the continent. The Asian Boxing Confederation is also a management which has got a President, four Vice-Presidents, ten Executive Committee members and professional commissions which cover all the activities of ASBC.

The Asian Supervisors and the International Technical Officials are arranging the continental and international competition’s main duties. The Asian Boxing Confederation has got strong Commissions which led their online meetings in the recent months to develop future strategies and arrange more activities throughout the Asian continent.

The new corporate image of the Asian Boxing Confederation contains new logo, new slogan, new visual elements, new social media sites including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, furthermore an informative website.

The Asian Boxing Confederation has got long term strategy which contains to reach the top in the upcoming years to prove the continent’s power and potential in the developing boxing world. Asian Boxing Confederation’s vision to improve the strength all of the region of the continent to reach the world class level. The Asian Boxing Confederation is responsible for boxing in the most populated continent where we can support 44 nations to reach their goals.

Following the elections of the Moscow AIBA Congress and the formation of the new management of the Asian Boxing Confederation in November 2018, the organization called for its General Assembly which was held in the Grand Fourwings Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand before the start of the ASBC Asian Confederation Elite Boxing Championships.

Record number of 36 delegations attended in the ASBC General Assembly in April 2019. The newly elected ASBC President and AIBA Vice-President Mr. Anas Alotaiba, AIBA Executive Director Mr. Tom Virgets, the President of the Thailand Boxing Association Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira and the ASBC Executive Director Mr. Ali Salameh led the ASBC General Assembly in Bangkok.

China’s Mr. Wu Di and South Korea’s Jae Joon Yoo were elected as new Vice-President of the Asian Boxing Confederation. Mr. Syed Abdul Kadir of Singapore, Mr. Jaber Mohsen of Kuwait, Mr. Sisouphanh Sengsavanh of Laos, Mr. Ali Takleef Shaheed of Iraq, Mr. Edgar Picson of the Philippines, Mr. Jay Kowli of India, Mr. Dian Gomes of Sri Lanka, Mr. Zhusupbek Korgonbai Uulu of Kyrgyzstan and Mr. Saken Polatov of Uzbekistan were elected as ASBC Executive Committee members.

The Asian Boxing Confederation arranged five big events in 2019, started with the Bangkok 2019 ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships and followed the first historical ASBC Asian Schoolboys Boxing Championships in Kuwait City. The ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships took place in Fujairah while the ASBC Asian Youth Boxing Championships in Ulaanbaatar. The first edition of the ASBC Asian Grand Slam Boxing Championships closed the year of 2019 in China.

The wearing of Hijab was approved in all female events, Mr. Anas Alotaiba worked hard to make this happen in the beginning of 2019. Women’s boxing developed and set up new records in the Asian events continuing the Gender Equality Program and new nations joined to the ASBC Championships such as Bahrain and United Arab Emirates. 

The Asian Boxing Confederation arranged strong educational programs in the recent weeks to reach all of the stakeholders, officials, coaches, referees and judges, boxers and fans to give them motivation in the hard period which affected by Covid-19. These specific Webinars get closer to all of the Asian Boxing Family and covered all of the areas.

The fantastic series of these online webinars of the Asian Boxing Confederation were very popular among the stakeholders and followers which were held in the previous weeks through the Zoom application and streamed live in the ASBC Facebook page. All of the registered participants received certificates due to their participations in the online Webinars. All of the four online educational projects was free of charge for all of the registered participants.

The Asian Boxing Confederation launched its Annual Report in the beginning of the year in 2020 which contains all of the important information about the organization’s activities, structure, governance, financial background and event details. Uzbekistan claimed 57 medals in the 2019 ASBC Championships, Kazakhstan bagged 55 while India 54 podium places last year. China, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, South Korea and Japan are still in the Top10. Philippines, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Iran, United Arab Emirates, Jordan, DPR Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Syria and Palestine all achieved at least one ASBC medal in 2019. The Asian Boxing Confederation’s important target and mission is to arrange all activities transparency. The financial statements, the financial positions, the cash flow and the forecasts of the Asian Boxing Championships are all transparent for all stakeholders.
