ASBC management send their best wishes to the Iranian Boxing Family on their Revolution Day
The President of the Asian Boxing Confederation Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira of Thailand, furthermore the whole ASBC management send their best wishes to the Iranian Boxing Federation on the Revolution Day.
The Revolution Day is a public holiday in Iran observed on the 22nd day of the Persian month of Bahman. The day is known as Bahman 22 in Iran which celebrates the Islamic Revolution in 1979. The new government of Iran changed the country’s state form from kingdom to Islamic Republic and approved a new constitution.
The Iranians earned a historic bronze medal at the Belgrade 2021 Men’s Elite World Boxing Championships and their boxers claimed gold in the Asian Youth Boxing Championships in that year. The Iranian boxers had a strong performance at the recent ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships where one of their new junior hopefuls earned a gold medal.
Their former Olympian boxer, Mr. Rohollah Hosseini is the new President of the Iranian Boxing Federation who has strong plans for 2024. Following their Elite National Championships, the team has been selected for the upcoming 1st World Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event.
One of their stars, Daniyal Shakhbakhsh returned to the national team after his injuries last year and he is ready to get his second Olympic spot after the Tokyo edition. The Iranian National Federation hired a Cuban coach to develop the technical and tactical boxing knowledge of their athletes.
The Iranian national team competed at the 75th Strandja Memorial Tournament in Sofia, Bulgaria in the previous days. Their Ali Habibinezhad (63.5kg) and Moslem Maghsoudi (71kg) both claimed bronze medals in the oldest European international tournament.
