The ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships postponed from December due to the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships

The first edition of the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships was planned to be hosted in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on December 7-17 still this year and following the decision of the management of the Asian Boxing Confederation and the Uzbekistan Boxing Federation, the event has been postponed until further notice.

The new edition of the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships will be held in Istanbul, Turkey in the first part of December and several of our female stars could be involved to both events in the same time. This is the main reason that Asian Boxing Confederation decided to postpone the event to a later date and all of the National Federations will be informed about it in time.

The planned first edition of the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships will support the next generation of talents to increase their international experiences. This will be the first ever edition in the history of the Asian boxing events and realizes a dream which formed a few years ago and could be take place in 2022.

The Uzbekistan Boxing Federation hosted the 1995, 1999 and 2017 editions of the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships. The country was also the host of the 2015 ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships which took place in Tashkent. Uzbekistan Boxing Federation will be the host also for the 2023 AIBA Men’s Elite World Boxing Championships.

Uzbekistan Boxing Federation is not only an Asian boxing power but one of the leaders of the world therefore the high quality of organization and the friendly hospitality are guaranteed in Tashkent. The Vice-President of the Asian Boxing Confederation Mr. Saken Polatov plans to attract the Asian boxers and delegations in the first edition in Tashkent. Mr. Shohid Tillaboev is the key official of the Uzbekistan Boxing Federation who worked also hard to take the event to Tashkent where all of the facilities are world class. The ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships will be one of the preparation events for the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games and the 2022 ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships.
